Philip M. Prieto papers, 1943-1945.

Consists of some of the personal papers of Dr. Philip M. Prieto, a captain in the United States Army during World War II. Materials include photographs and photocopies of typewritten manuscripts. The photographs depict various people and places in Europe during World War II, including several shots of dead Russian and Polish prisoners of war near Gardelegen, Germany, in 1945. The typewritten manuscripts include a story about the atrocity that took place near Gardelegen in 1945 as well as a transcript of a 1944 speech given in England by General Patton to several hundred army officers just before the Normandy invasion.
